Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of StudyLayer, a PDF study-guide service operated by Mehmet Berke Erdoğan.
StudyLayer is an educational aid. Generated material can be incomplete or wrong and must be checked against the original document. Do not rely on it for safety-critical, medical, legal, financial, or other professional decisions.
1. Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account or using StudyLayer, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Notice. If you use the service for an organization, you confirm that you may bind that organization. You must be legally capable of entering this agreement; otherwise, a parent or legal guardian must approve your use.
2. The service
StudyLayer accepts supported PDF files and generates summaries or explanations grounded in those files. Features, limits, models, and availability may change as the service develops. We may suspend processing to protect users, control excessive cost, maintain the service, or comply with law.
Generated output is provided for study and informational purposes. You remain responsible for reviewing the original source, checking important facts, and deciding whether the output is appropriate for your purpose.
3. Accounts and security
You must provide accurate account information, keep your credentials confidential, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account until you notify us of a security problem.
4. Your files and generated study material
You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant StudyLayer a limited license to host, copy, render, analyze, and transmit that content only as needed to provide, secure, and maintain the service. This license ends when the content is deleted, subject to limited technical and legal retention described in our Privacy Notice.
You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload each file. You must not upload confidential material without authorization, infringing content, unlawful content, malware, or files designed to attack or manipulate the service or its providers.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law or violate another person's rights;
- attempt to bypass plan limits, access controls, or security measures;
- probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or automate abuse of the service;
- misrepresent generated content as verified professional advice; or
- resell or commercially exploit the service without written permission.
6. Free and paid plans
Plan limits are shown in the product and enforced by StudyLayer. Paid subscriptions are sold and billed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle calculates applicable taxes, provides receipts, and processes payment information. Your paid subscription renews automatically at the displayed interval until canceled.
You may cancel through the billing portal at any time. Unless mandatory law or Paddle's terms provide otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy and Paddle's buyer terms.
7. Intellectual property
StudyLayer, its interface, software, branding, and service design belong to the operator or its licensors. These Terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of StudyLayer.
8. Suspension and termination
You may stop using StudyLayer and delete your account. We may restrict or terminate access for material breach, fraud, security risk, unlawful activity, non-payment, or serious misuse. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
9. Disclaimers and liability
StudyLayer is provided on an “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect extraction, or error-free generated content. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, remedy, or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StudyLayer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the service. For claims that may lawfully be limited, total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for StudyLayer during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
10. Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Turkey, without removing any mandatory protections you receive under the law of your country of residence. We may update these Terms when the service or law changes. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email before they take effect where required.
